The Iskander (an HE ATACMS style unit) was particularly unpleasant. It makes no pretentions towards being balanced when it is anything but (looking at you, Uralgraznomod!) Putting together an enemy deck without looking too hard at what you're facing can yield some surprises.

Air power is seriously OP even when you're not talking about the Raptor or the F-35, the range on some units renders the sky off-limits to anything without huge ECM and stealth.Īsh & Shadows is an insane, ridiculous mod that's a lot of fun to play. All these observations were made in comp games. Getting a game against real players is proving to be difficult. Also LAW-80 spanked down to 350m range, significantly lower than IRL. Not sure why the CW had all their exceptional optic helos removed. Important to remember that it is in Alpha stage of course. Some of the units are buggy (recon units with bad optics, or ones rated at Exceptional that can't see a thing!).Some of the new units are a bit disapppointing.Logical changes to buff optics on high-end tanks and transport helicopters.Using a long-ranged LMG model with no damage, just suppression, the units can stun each other to simulate jamming. Good concepts such as an electronic suppressor fitted to both high-end SEAD and AA.I personally believe these add the most flavour to the game random little non-game breakingly OP units that augment minor coalitions. Random little gems that catch you out.One remains in almost perfect stealth until it ripple-fires a flurry of six 10km+ range missiles, the other is basically a flying ATACMS that never misses even moving units (fire and forget, 9km+ range 10ap cluster munition). Absurd, power weapons like the RaptorJesus (what they've actually called it) and the F-35.Less abstraction of a nation's ORBAT when it comes to infantry units.New, interesting units added to the mix such as the Starstreak manpad.Every nation has a major buff to their tank section apart from E Germany which seems to have disappeared almost entirely, but this being Alpha stage testing, it's more than likely an error while they're re-worked. Also a general increase in availability for high-end units. Javelins are everywhere and are horribly powerful! Some changes have been made accross the board such as a general increase in all AA missile range, but a decrease in HE power. They've even added some infantry buffs that even would be the stuff of /u/RangerPL 's (wet) dreams. The modders seems to have focussed on the US initially, significantly boosting their arsenal in almost all areas. It is currently in Alpha testing phase and has no new skins for the additional units, just stat and name changes. This mod by Spectre_NZ brings the technology forward to the present day (for some). Which ones have you tried and what are your thoughts? Mine on one are below:
